Mother Africa is calling me Home...

Peace...

I know a lot of you remember back in the days when you would be outside playin with your friends...and all of a sudden you'd hear your mom calling you telling you "it's time to come in and eat..." No matter how far down the block you was or how far around the corner you was...at some point you'd hear that call...and if you didn't hear it something in your soul heard it...and your spirit would tell you "to go home and eat..."

Well...Mother Africa is calling me Home...

I was right down the street when she looked out the door to call my name...I heard her on the first call...but she called me a couple of times anyway...I finished that last hand of pitty pat...grabbed my three dollars in winnings from the pot and said to my homies "yo...I gotta go in and eat dinner...I'll be right back..." As I was walking up the block...I looked back and noticed that no one else was moving from the steps of the boarded up house...so that made me think that they'd still be there doing the same thing when I get back...

To be continued...

My search for Hip Hop is carrying me home to Africa. I will be serving as a community health coordinator in Malawi, which is in southeast Africa near Mozambique and Tanzania...

So stay tuned...as I will keep you posted with pictures, happenings, thoughts, stories...and maybe some videos...
