That Village Life...

Peace...

Here are some more pictures of my learning experience and travels in Africa...

There are people who have expressed their concerns about the pictures I have chosen to share about my stay in Africa. Some people may feel that my pictures of Africa are not representative of the continent as a whole, and that I am only depicting the less developed and rural side of Africa.

I just want to express to people that my experience in Africa was a blessed experience and one that is gonna stay with me forever. The pictures that are being displayed are for my family and friends...and for people who will never get the chance to walk on the soils of Africa. Although my pictures reflect a small percentage of what Africa has to offer, I don't want people to believe that that's all it has to offer. I recognize that there are parts of Africa that are highly developed, and that there are parts of Africa that reflect images of grander.

Also, I understand that there are people who are tired and feed up with the images that are portrayed about Africa on the news and in National Geographic...I express those same feelings. But, although there are people who express those feelings, I believe there is a better way to have this discussion about the images of Africa without downplaying or questioning people's character and their learning experience.

In this search for hip hop, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and true power, I got the opportunity to do something that the average black boy from Philadelphia wouldn't get the chance to do...and that's to go back to Africa...for a second, for a minute, for an hour...to see the rural or the urban...the village or the city life...wherever I was...whatever I saw...I was in Africa...and that's the story I'm gonna tell...

So with that being said...enjoy the pictures and stay tuned as I continue to Carry the Wait and keep in my search for hip hop...

Please feel free to leave comments and express your thoughts...

Peace...
